"A Second Poem About Skin"
like a snake
im finally beginning to shed you
peel back your touch and the
stale layers of love
erase epidermis carved with chaos
and your name
im waking up not dreaming of us
but into my own life for once
outgrow the body that knew and the skin
that needed you
and yes my slender love
loneliness still and will always lurk
but this dismantling is my own
a rebirth
call me serpent
ever changing, ever new
