"Celebration"
his face is half eaten
i sit here welcoming strangers to this place i have never been
people made of lace and indifference, wool and disinterest
the evening is scraped to the edge just so, the patience afforded is just so
the only question is "what does it mean?"
a toe touched in and recalcitrantly retracted
admission is the power that everyone has and no one uses
everything is uncertain and the opulence is overwhelming
it calls for you despite your insistence
ponder: to be called the things you want and only feel empty
finally, i arrive, laden with regret and assumption
(there is nothing i could do, say all)
i pay for my time
and it goes on
